SUPER SPEED SOLUTIONS
In most fields of research and development functional units get smaller and thinner in always shorter periods of time. The nanometer is the dimension which presently drives the innovations. X-ray diffraction is the non-destructive method which is already widely used to investigate materials of the nanospace like nanotubes, quantum dots, or mesoscopic structures e.g.. However, dealing typically with some 10 µm sized sample areas of interest laboratory instrumentation needs to provide a very high x-ray primary beam flux density and innovative detector technology to collect data in a reasonable period of time.
To meet these demands, Bruker AXS developed the SUPER SPEED SOLUTIONS(TM) concept. Uniquely, the high power Turbo X-ray Source(TM) is a seamless integrated part of the x-ray diffraction instrument. This concept allows using a SUPER SPEED SOLUTION like a conventional system, however providing six times the power. The SUPER SPEED SOLUTION concept is available for a D8 ADVANCE type of powder diffractometer, a D8 DISCOVER type of thin film solution, D8 DISCOVER with GADDS XRD2 solution, as well as for the NANOSTAR U.
Additionally, Bruker AXS’ entire range of innovative detectors turns the source power of a SUPER SPEED SOLUTION to high-end data quality. The MikroGap(TM) technology of the VÅNTEC detector family provides high dynamic range and angular resolution for all applications from ultra-fast powder diffraction to thin film reciprocal space mapping – in one or two dimensions. The LYNXEYE detector based on compound silicon strip technology offers unique count rate capabilities which will make faster, high quality X-ray powder diffraction available to a broader customer base.
